So I’ve been moving the blog, and as I’ve been doing it I think I’ve found one rule that will help me stick to the new format, and by extension how I organize my life:

There are several ways to spell this. Kush kush (how I actually do), coush coush, and couche couche. I’m not sure which is correct, and I doubt anyone does because Cajun French is rarely written. I’d imagine it’s probably coush coush, given the dish’s probable relationship to couscous.
Note: This isn’t going to be a traditional knitting pattern, more just notes on how you can make a very generic stockinette stitch sweater that you can then pin your own desings onto.
Isn’t it funny how sometimes you find a piece of software that you look at, think “Ehh, I don’t really like this”, and then it comes back several months later as a core part of your life management? I think it is.

Before I get too far into this and give spoiler warnings, and such, I’ll say: I’ve played it both with and without the NSFW DLC. You don’t miss that much without the patch, but you do miss some foreshadowing, and some character development. I would recommend playing it with the patch, just know the sex scenes are… not to my taste, but they do remove/change a lot of scenes otherwise.
While the overlap from polyamory to FOSS may not be huge, I’m sure at least some of you out there want something that isn’t Google, right? A lot of people every year are hearing about why you probably shouldn’t use most products from big tech companies. While it’s not always feasible to make the jump with, say, social applications (good luck convincing everyone you know to hop ship from Discord to XMPP), this is something that’s perfectly feasible while still maintaining most functionality. If you can get a little cooperation from the people you’re sharing with, you can even maintain full functionality!
There’s a lot of anti-aging stuff around the internet, from people saying to put on lotion, to people who are showing you how to redirect your own expressions of basic emotions so you don’t smile. I have my own opinions on the ways that people are trying to avoid the signs of aging, but we won’t go too deep into those. I’d just recommend looking into why, and realizing that once you hit 60 you’re not going to look 20, no matter how little you’ve smiled.
So someone on fedi mentioned that they were given the idea to do a new years bingo card, instead of a new years resolution. I kinda like the idea, since new years resolutions tend to be kind of vague, and far too large in scope; what the hell does “read more” even mean, anyway?
This is less going to be about how much space items take up, and more about how many items you can fit in a given container usefully. I tend to do a lot of work while dragging a small cart around, and it’s good to have a reference on the most efficient way to store things like farmed goods (especially cotton, fuck cotton).

Look. Am I horrendously attached to imperial units? No, not really. I like them, I grew up with them, but fundamentally I don’t think I’d pine for inches over centimeters, valuing the simplicity of the foot over the fact that 1/3 of a meter is 333.3333333333… oh you get the point, centimeters.
Because this skill really needs it.
