Milk inside a bag of milk inside a bag of milk review

Steam

I’d seen this game a while ago on steam, and ended up getting it for
cheap. It’s a fairly short game, and you can see basically everything
it has to offer within an hour, but it was a worthwhile read.
Especially given its small price tag.

Off the bat, the art style is more or less monochrome, which is neat
(not entirely, but it’s close enough for me), consisting of mostly
purple, with a few splashes of red. The music is fairly creepy, and
the visuals are unnerving, but it’s not what I think anyone would call
a horror game, especially if they’ve played a horror game.

The game follows an unnamed girl (I’ll call her Milkgirl) as she goes
to the store to get a bag of milk. You play the part of an imagined
player of a game she’s the protagonist of.

The visuals are meant to be how Milkgirl sees the world, as she’s
suffering from an undisclosed mental illness. I do like these kinds
of depictions, though some people would consider them a bit edgy, and
others potentially offensive. I do understand why these things are
often used to represent these illnesses, as quite often vision isn’t
distorted to this extent, it’s more the perception; at least in my
experience. Overall I do think it did a good job depicting what it
wanted to, though.
